Family Background

Disa is a 15-year-old boy from Prey Kouy Village, Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. He is the youngest of four children and currently studies in Grade 11, where he excels in Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. His dream is to become a doctor in the future so he can use his skills to help others and support his family. His parents are subsistence farmers who also run a small shop, earning about 40,000 Riel ($10) per day, which makes it difficult to cover school expenses. Even with financial struggles, Disa is determined to finish Grade 12 and pursue higher education. A devoted Christian, he attends church regularly, serves on the worship team, and volunteers as a teacher for younger children in subjects like English, Khmer, and Math. Through both his studies and his service at church, Disa demonstrates a passion for learning and a commitment to helping the next generation.
