Family Background
Sana is a 12-year-old girl from Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia. She lives with her parents and five siblings and is currently in Grade 6 at a local primary school. A bright student, she is especially good at Khmer literature and Math, and she dreams of becoming a policewoman in the future. Her parents earn only about 25,000 Riel ($6.25) per day, which makes it difficult to provide for the family and cover school expenses. Despite these challenges, Sana is determined to continue her education through Grade 12, pursue college, and secure a good job to help support her family. Her parents constantly encourage her to study hard and never give up on her goals. Sana and her family are devoted Christians who attend church regularly, and she is actively involved in the Kids’ Club ministry, where her faith gives her strength and hope.
