Family Background

Dalika is a 10-year-old girl from Plong Village, Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia. She lives with her parents and three siblings and is currently in Grade 4, where she recently earned the top ranking in her class. A bright and hardworking student, she dreams of becoming a doctor so she can help others and improve her family’s life. Her family is poor and often struggles to afford school supplies, uniforms, and transportation, making education a daily challenge. Despite these hardships, Dalika is determined to stay in school, finish Grade 12, and pursue higher education. Her parents, though limited in resources, highly value education and encourage their children to study hard, even making personal sacrifices to support them. Together, as a Christian family who regularly attends church, their faith gives them strength and hope for a brighter future.
